take you to templates that have been created in a
variety of software packages. They have each been
differentiated to enable pupils to work independently
and appropriate to their ability. |

| Frequently asked
questions |
| |
| Q. The project is
designed to be completed independently by the Year 6
pupils - how independent should it be? |
| A. The presentation
should be completed by children on their own, i.e. not
working in pairs. It should reflect what they are
capable of doing in ICT by themselves and not part of a
structured lesson. The children may need help from time
to time i.e. if they have forgotten one or two aspects
of an ICT skill but should generally be what they can do
on a day to day basis in ICT. |
| |
| Q. The presentation is
about themselves, how much personal information should
they include? |
| A. Because a range of
pupils will be seeing these presentations in the Autumn
terms, it would be sensible not to include details such
as addresses, phone numbers and family details, for
instance "My fathers name is Paul and I have one
Brother" would be appropriate, where as "My father's
name is Paul Henry Smith who is 39 on the 1st February.
I live at 32 Cheshire Street" would be too much personal
information. |

| Q. How will I know that
the emails we send have been received OK? |
| A. There are several
ways to do this. Most e-mail programs have the ability
to acknowledge being received. In Outlook this is done
by Clicking on the Options at the top of a new
email and then choosing "Request a delivery receipt
for this message". Alternatively it may be possible
to organise with the participating secondary school a
way of sending a list of all received files by an agreed
date. |
