Annotation Sheet

In this example, the pupil has used basic tools within the package to create a simple picture. He has selected a variety of colours to produce the picture and has added his name.

To make further progress, this pupil could explore a greater variety of tools within the package. He could save his work for improvement at a later date. He could use the Shift key to capitalise the name.

Annotation Sheet

In this example, the pupil has used features of Textease to rotate text around an image to create a concrete poem. The selection of the image is appropriate to the subject of the poem and the chosen words. She has used the effects tool to change the font style and size. She was able to save her work for improvement at a later date.

To make further progress, this pupil could gather and manipulate images form a variety of sources. She could improve her work further by ensuring the same font size throughout and checking spelling. She could add some animated elements or include the poem as part of a presentation.

Annotation Sheet

In this example, the pupil has used a range of editing tools to improve and refine the look of their work, including changing style and position of text. They have imported appropriate images form the internet and have shown that they can consider different ways of presenting work.

To make further progress, this pupil could include information from other sources including digital cameras and other software. They could also consider alternative ways of presenting work, considering the audience and design templates for themselves.

Annotation Sheet

In this example, the pupil has combined appropriate text and images to recreate a 1940s style newspaper. There has been careful research about events of the time and choice of images. They have explored different layouts before settling on the final design. The content and style of language used has been chosen to reflect that in use at that time and there has been clear consideration of audience and purpose.

To make further progress, this pupil could work on more extended projects that draw on a number of themes of ICT and present these in a variety of ways for  variety of audiences and purposes with due consideration to validity and bias.
