Organised into sections that would be useful for anyone in an educational setting www.teachernet.gov.uk/wholeschool/sen Government website for SEN – worth keeping an eye on for latest information SEN website with lots of information, ideas, software to download for pupils Government website for locating software by subjects – some free , some to pay, lesson plans are online as well. One stop shop for an amazing amount of links to other websites. Not pretty , but very useful! Resources for teaching to download and access Use the images tab to search for materials Great for mp3 resources (i.e. sound and music files) www.teachernet.gov.uk/wholeschool/sen/teacherlearningassistant/ Information for TA’s but the site also has special needs links for parents and carers, teachers and other professional staff. Useful guidance on Autism to read about. Database of special needs resources. I usually don’t like these sites as “resources” mean paper-based “how to” documents . But this site has some interesting links to explore for researching into different rare conditions such as “Semantic Dyspraxic Disorder”

Check out Art for KS3 and KS 4 AccessArt looks a good website for Art Teachers Links to interactive material that covers a range of topics through a wide range of topics would suit KS3 and KS 4 pupils better than younger pupils www.nhm.ac.uk/education/quest2/english/1/index.html Intriguing on-line investigation tool – makes use of symbols – so good for symbol users www.edbydesign.com/kidsact.html Kid activity website where you can study art, do some maths and scramble words. Interactive site for SEN pupils http://netvet.wustl.edu/e-zoo.htm The Electronic zoo – pictures, photographs and source of information – mainly for bright SLD pupils and mainstream SEN pupils. Useful resource for teachers to prepare materials on. Online museum – very visual with some text. Suit MLD pupils or pupils with reading difficulties. Great for use with the ALL Scheme for PMLD to get some ideas going for The Environment section as well as mainstream SEN pupils needing a problem-solving approach www.bbc.co.uk/education/dynamo/home.shtml The Dynamo website contains useful resources for SLD and MLD pupils on History and Science Play that game –loads of links to really good online software and a very useful interactive website for SLD/MLD pupils to play at breaktimes and wet lunchtimes
